Questions from families

What to know before enrolling.

The answers below follow the current registration policy and the published class inventory.

How do I choose the right class?
Use the age and level guidance in the schedule. If the right starting point is unclear, schedule a free 15-minute evaluation and the team can recommend a suitable class direction.
Can complete beginners join?
Yes. The UES schedule includes beginner-level options. Choose the class matching the child’s age and experience, or begin with an evaluation.
Can my child join after the semester begins?
Check the current Jackrabbit opening for the selected class. Any prorated amount must match the amount shown or confirmed during registration.
What happens if a class is missed?
A class canceled for a national holiday receives a makeup class and no tuition credit. A student absence does not create an automatic credit; contact the academy about the specific date.
Can my child change groups?
Contact the academy before making a change. Another group must be appropriate for the student’s level and have current availability.
What should my child bring?
Contact the academy before the first class for any class-specific instructions.
What are the enrollment benefit conditions?
The $500 credit requires eligible full-school-year in-person 60-minute enrollment. The $800 credit requires eligible full-school-year in-person 90-minute enrollment. Credits are valid for one year toward private lessons, summer camps, or chess workshops, are non-transferable, and cannot pay for the second group class discounted by 50%.
What is the cancellation or refund policy?
If Chess Max Academy cancels or closes a class, families may transfer to another class or receive a full refund. Other cancellation terms follow the registration agreement shown before enrollment.
How do I register?
Choose the class by name, day, and time, then use its Register button. Confirm that the form shows the intended session and class before submitting.
How much is a trial class?
In person, a 45- or 60-minute trial is $60 and a 90-minute trial is $100. Online, a 60-minute trial is $40 and a 90-minute trial is $60. If the student continues, the trial fee is applied to the remaining balance.
