How our group classes work
Chess instruction, practice, and a path to the next level.
Children are placed by age and current chess level. In class, they learn with a coach, solve positions, and play practice games with peers. Weekly homework reinforces the material between lessons.
Start at the right level
A beginner learning the rules needs a different starting point from a child who already plays complete games. The free evaluation helps the team recommend a group.
Use what you learn
Coach instruction is followed by guided practice and games. Children work through positions, explain their decisions, and receive feedback on their play.
Progress through the levels
Students move up when they have mastered the material at their current level. Homework and practice between classes support that progression.

In-person group chess classes for kids
In-person group chess classes for kids are available in Manhattan and Greenwich. From $1,360/Semester. Trials are $60–$100, depending on class duration. Choose a physical location above for its current schedule.
Online group classes
From $700/Semester. Trials are $40–$60, depending on class duration. Online School is a remote group path for kids who need structured instruction, coach feedback, and practice without traveling.
